(Hello) What's New?

Hello everyone!

We are happy to say we are fairly settled in our new(ish) store. Here are some changes we will be bringing on shortly:

Cacao and Coffee

We are now offering cacao and coffee in-store under the small venture called Barrios. This is in our store, and just a tiny way for us to share our passion for local coffee and cacao. It is named after Agustin Barrios. And barrios. Get it?

Shop Hours

In February, we are also adjusting our opening hours to 11 AM to 8 PM instead of 12 noon to 9 PM. This makes it easier for us to cater to those who want some morning time in, and also makes it safer for us to get home in this crazy giant megacity. We are also considering opening on Sundays-- this is still a debate among us. Please let us know your thoughts via email!

Sale

This coming week, we are putting on sale all our publications, textiles, and alcoholic beverages. Please stop by or check out our Facebook page for announcements.

Price Increase / Tax Change

On our sixth year in the "legit business" world, we are shifting to a corporation from a sole proprietorship. Not only does this mean we get to make shareholders out of our dearest employees and supporters, it also means that we now have to pay 12% VAT (value-added tax). Previously, we paid a 3% percentage tax. We are raising our prices, probably the first time in three years for most of our products. We are also somewhat adjusting our pricing for bulk goods. Our updated price list will be posted shortly.

Bulk Sales on Pause

We cannot cater to new bulk clients until Friday of the coming week. Existing clients can be serviced! We are adjusting our pricing structure.

Delivery

We are also now primarily delivering via GrabExpress. Please email us for more details-- or if you know of any remaining bicycle messengers around! We will be doing some number-crunching to see if hiring our own dedicated delivery person will be worth it.

Tiangges

We would like to join less "mainstream" tiangges, ie, bazaars in small schools, municipal halls, hobby events, whatnot. Please keep us posted if you know of any!

Thank you for your continued support as we grow our little shop.

Holiday Schedule for 2014

Folks of the internet, behold our holiday schedule! We are quite busy filling orders, and listening to frazzled shoppers unload and freak out about not meeting their gifting deadlines. We say take a break as well, and relax. Don't try to go to all of the parties, and sip a cup of tea beside your beautiful Christmas tree, will you?

Looking Forward, 2012

The silence is because of increase busy-ness, but also from a relaxing after the holidays, and technological goodbyes. So, let us take one last break before we launch into the year.

We are not going to be at the Legazpi Market this weekend, as the whole crew is heading out up north for some R&R and looking forward (isn't that a much better way to say "planning"?).

This shop is not just a business, it is our heart and our selves poured out into a physical space. As we change, become more experienced, meet new people and lay our feet on different soils, the shop changes shape. Needless to say, it hasn't really had a shiny new face after Christmas, but trust that after this weekend, we will know what rearrangements and additions, if any, to make. In the meantime, here are our resolutions.

Share more
An incredible amount of work and documentation goes into our product sourcing. We admit that we haven't been the best at sharing these. Our adventures will hopefully interest you and inspire you to explore your country or neighborhood a little bit more. Although we definitely aren't making our own travel show or podcast, we would like to keep you posted in a basic way about what we are doing. Yes-- this includes finally making a website.

Connect systematically with entrepreneurs
We meet some pretty amazing people. But we know there are much, much more. We want to meet more people from all walks of life that are passionate about what they are doing. People who are doing something good and original. People who aren't just copying the latest food and fashion blogs, or trends, but dialogue with their materials and can manifest truth and beauty through it. We like to meet you all! Have regular coffee chats together!

Travel less
Our other sustainable company, to do with cacao, is really taking off, so more focus is required of us. We shan't be shuttling off every other day anymore. We will be around to nurture all our projects!

Get more people to refill
That means you. This means design solutions and more dialogue and interaction.

Happy first quarter of the year, all!

Online

It seems that we needed to go beyond analogue sooner or later! Here we are, and we'll be updating more in the coming days.
